Readings for November 1st 2018 Class

We had a great discussion today led by our amazing Relief Society President, Josette Thebaud. We all could learn a lot from her especially on how to increase our faith in the power of prayer and fasting. She is incredible! Next week our class will be taught by Stacey Collins. We will be studying the fourth lesson in the Foundations of the Restoration manual The Book of Mormon--The Keystone of our Religion . The assigned readings for the class are: Doctrine and Covenants  19:26 ;  20:5–12 . Ezra Taft Benson, “The Book of Mormon—Keystone of Our Religion,”  Ensign , Nov. 1986, 4-7 Jeffrey R. Holland, “Safety for the Soul,”  Ensign , Nov. 2009, 88-90 No one signed up to share the spiritual thought that week and I forgot to bring the sign-up, so if you wouldn't mind sharing a thought, please let me know; otherwise, I will do it. :) Hope to see all of you that can make it next week!

1st Class Down and Prep for Next Class on October 11th

We will be holding class next week even though it is Fall Break. Melinda has generously offered the babysitting services of her older kids to help with the extra kids and we are thinking of maybe allowing them to play in the gym or in another room next week. However, if you would feel more comfortable keeping your children in the room with us, you are more than welcome to do that as well. Next week's lesson will be Lesson 2 "The First Vision" and will be taught by Melinda. Here are links to the suggested readings from the manual for this lesson: Joseph Smith History 1:1-26 Gordon B. Hinckley, "The Marvelous Foundation of Our Faith," Ensign , Nov. 2002, 78-81. If Melinda wants to add any additional readings, she will create a new post or add them in the comments of this post. Thanks to Lisa for being willing ...
